SBM reaches new levels of pigging safety using valve interlocks managed by a sequence control panel. This electronic panel manages start key release, based on compressor input signals and key detection.
FPSO
From the construction of FPSO ‘Cidade de Ilhabella’ three years ago, SBM implements Netherlocks interlocks and an electronic sequence control panel. Sofis recently upgraded their control panel to their current process requirements.
Release of start keys based on external inputs
To avoid any interference between operations of three adjacent pigging vessels, a sequence control panel manages the release of three start keys. This panel receives high/low input from the connected compressor and detects the presence of the start keys. It only releases a start key when the other two keys are present in the panel and the compressor signal is low.
